What have diabetes and Mother Earth got in common? Both diabetes and the Earth Day remind us to clean up our planet.
In 1966, when NASA streamed photos showing Earth from space, the astronauts inside the shuttle said it changed their lives forever, to see their home from this perspective. They felt sentimentality and new awareness that ‘Home’ is worthy of protection and established to celebrate Earth Day annually.
We’ve invented rockets and space travel. We’ve landed on the moon. We invented plastics and have artificially created an island of non-biodegradable plastic trash, in the Pacific Ocean, which is visible from space!
Immediately avoid plastic. Use eco-friendly products and green products, do paper and cardboard recycling, decrease the loss of forests.
Let’s be clear: demand health for ourselves and health for the planet. We NEED to protest about deforestation of Asia’s forests for production of palm oil. We NEED green Earth and renewable energy. We HAVE to tackle global warming, head on.
The extreme weather conditions faced by the planet are not conducive to Earth’s health or ours.
We NEED education about autoimmune disorders and diabetes. We HAVE to improve our housekeeping regime on Earth. With such a state of imbalance, ill health is showing up everywhere. Let’s get our home in order.
Some scientists are talking about setting up a new home for humanity on Mars – this century! A new space race has started for the first Earth visitors to Mars by 2035. Clearly, as a human race, we are not running away from our home and hoping we can get it right on Mars. No, let’s get it right on Earth. Today!
